Remembering Marvin J Rosenthal: 1935 - 2022
It is with a deep sense of loss that we announce the passing of Marvin J. Rosenthal, the beloved founder and President
Emeritus of Zion’s Hope. At the age of 86, Marv graduated to glory, stepped onto celestial shores, and entered the gate
of Heaven to meet His Lord and Savior, Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus the Messiah).
Marv and his wife Marbeth, along with godly ministry colleagues, founded the ministry of Zion’s Hope in 1989. The
following year, Marv and Marbeth’s son, David, joined his parents’ ministry endeavors at Zion’s Hope after his
graduation from Bible college.
If ever the name of a ministry organization matched its focus, then “Zion’s Hope” fit perfectly. This name ideally
reflects the ministry’s purpose and encompassed Marv’s passion to fervently, yet graciously, share the Good News of
Jesus the Messiah with Jewish people in Israel, the United States, and around the world. The name “Zion’s Hope” comes
from Psalm 53:6, which states: “Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion!” It was Marv’s heartfelt belief
that the only true hope of Zion is salvation through her Messiah.
In God’s strength, and by His grace, Marv led Zion’s Hope through three decades of dynamic and impactful ministry
initiatives. Marv was uniquely gifted by His Creator to teach Scripture through both the written and spoken word. For
nearly 50 years, his in-depth and insightful writing has touched countless lives through the pages of Zion’s Fire
magazine, in books, through letters, and in various publications. His love for the Savior, his warmth with people, his
heart to reach the unsaved with the Gospel, and his passion to boldly proclaim the truths of God’s Word without
compromise were the hallmarks of his life and ministry.
Marv was deeply devoted to his immediate and extended family. He was a faithful husband, loving father, and special
friend to multitudes across the United States, Israel, and around the world. Marv will be deeply missed by his family,
by all of us at Zion’s Hope, and by many other special friends who knew him.
